It is pretty important for kids to be taught values that are compatible with a libertarian society. A lot of fairy tales, short stories currently taught in schools/homes emphasize worship of authority and do not emphasize on individual responsibility, work ethics etc and sometime even reward bad behavior.

So this page will contain stories that are recommended for kids, libertarian themed/compatible books and content. In addition current reading in schools is woefully inadequate for teaching critical thinking, philosophy etc. so please feel free to add books that you find useful for that

Stories/books for kids that promote good values

The Little Red Hen (promotes the importance of working hard in order to enjoy the fruits of one's labor)

The ant and the grasshopper

The boy who cried wolf (lying and destroying social trust leads to bad consequences).

The emperor's new clothes.

The hare and the tortoise.

Specifically Libertarian Content

The Tuttle Twins is an excellent series of books that teaches kids about free markets and the dangers of statism in a kid friendly way.

An Island Called Liberty by Joseph Specht

The adventures of Jonathan Gullible : A free market odyssey

printed in 46 languages and winner of many awards and even recommended by Milton Friedman, It challenges readers to think about why some countries are rich, while others are poor. It explores alternative thinking about important economic, practical and philosophical matters. The variety of ideas will challenge readers to ponder, question, and engage in meaningful discussions. Underlying all this is the respect for, and tolerance of, the individual.

Libertarian themed Movies/tv series for kids

Tomorrowland : Ayn Rand type plot where bunch of smart people leave for more free society and how it evolves into statism of its own@ climate change doom with anti-greta type character fixing it with individualism. Lots of good message about individualism, optimism and why centralized authority is bad.

Project Bastiat

project bastiat is an initiative by Indian Libertarians to suggest reforms/additions/modifications to current curriculum in schools to reflect education in line with libertarian values. this involves a proper contextual reading of history, welfare, statism, government regulation.
